This has nothing to do with Japan, except that a link to the site was waiting for me in an e-mail when we returned. I scored "38% Dixie. You are definitely a Yankee." This is more fun than most e-mail quizzes, and includes information on regional speech variations. (The friend who sent it to me is very selective in what she passes on.) Enjoy!

"28% Dixie. You are a Yankee Doodle Dandy." Very interesting that I got more Yankee than Mom. But it's true that I grew up in the Northern south and not the True South. What's Dad's score? I'll fall over if he scores more Dixie than I am.

39% Dixie. There are many answers that I could have changed, though. I took it again and go 31%, but any way you look at it, I'm a Yankee!

Dad-o scores - 36% Dixie. You are definitely a Yankee. Jon, Jon? Please pick Heather off the floor :)

Heather, it must be living in Pittsburgh and being married to a son of New Hampshire that makes the difference for you. :)

18% Dixie - A Duke of Yankeedom. I went back to see what would have given me 18%. I used to use Grinder a lot more, but now that I live in southern NE, sub seems more common. My score went down to 11% Dixie when I changed that. I probably am more yankee than the rest of you because you guys have ants instead of aunts.

36% Dixie. I loved going through each selection to find what answer was most common in which part of the country. Heather, your mom is right. It's the Pittsburgh influence. I lived in MI for 4-5 years and found myself second-guessing on a few answers because of living there (like soda or pop, and hoagie or sub...).

It's funny, because I thought I avoided the "Pittsburgh" answers. But I did say "either way" to several answers, which I may not have ten years ago. I bet there's some Pittsburgh influence, but I also bet that having a New Hampshire husband influences me the most.

Gee... I'm disappointed. I'm 33% Dixie. Definitely a Yankee, but not 100%. Maybe the south is rubbing off on me, but I'm no confederate in the attic.

I guess we *are* meant for each other... 28% Dixie. You are a Yankee Doodle Dandy.
