Just what parents didn't want to hear.  Apparently high-action video games can improve your eyesight.  (Rochester Review, May/June 2007)

I wonder if any of our nephews read this blog. The video game loving ones, that is. Um, that would be all of them....

We didn't play too many of those "high-action" games - I don't think they even really had them until I was in middle school, and then I did play Doom some, although it wasn't until college that I played more of those kind, and then even more once I started working at DynaVox - though we haven't played in years.

I only have one video game loving kid - and he wears glasses - though we only had to go to the eye doctor once this year (twice the year before). Maybe those games are slowing down the deterioration of his eyes :) The other one might start playing games to get rid of his glasses!

Hmm, interesting point. I wonder if it would help age-related eye problems. Can you see it? A bunch of us old folks suddenly taking an interest in high-action video games? Nintendo for the geezer market? Wii in the nursing homes? (Guess I won't go any further down that path.)

Having just seen (and tried) the Wii at Bill's birthday party, it really puts an amusing picture in my head of Mom boxing the air with little white sticks. Even funnier against Dad... heehee!
