A
Fib
Is not
A lie, nor
Poetic license,
But homage to Fibonacci.

I suppose
you
can use any
math
value and create
a poem that is as easy as
pie. The
Difficulty is that
it may go on and
on and on
and never reach an
end unless you decide to round off.

Let me guess -- that sounds like "D." :)

Or "pie."
That poem's quite transcendent!
And
I'm feeling slightly peckish now
For pie
Will make me think of edibles
But
Two hours to lunchtime and my gut's
Hunger
Is growing exponentially.

In all seriousness: the poems are ultra-simple and probably not great literature, but they're easy and fun practice in condensing a message and working it into and around limitations. It's the "I can do it!" entry level to poetry. Who knows what lies beyond!

Yes, that was D above.

Regarding Stephan's comment. As I believe the author of the gottabook blog mentioned (previous email) this type of simple poetry requires careful word selection. My hope is that this will help the boys in other writing assignments as well.
