The latest product update e-mail just arrived from Twitter.  What am I do make of this?

We've launched Periscope, a live, interactive video app that lets you teleport anywhere with a tap.

Should I cancel my plane tickets to Switzerland?  I've been waiting for someone to develop teleportation, though I am surprised it comes with so little hype.

Turning off those asinine Twitter emails would be my recommendation. If you want a Star Trek/The Future Is Now fix, check this out instead...

That's Italian Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti aboard the International Space Station. She is sporting a later era Starfleet uniform AND quoting coffee aficionado Captain Janeway from an episode of "Star Trek: Voyager".

The Dragon supply ship she's pointing to transported, among other things, an espresso machine called the ISSpresso.

P.S. Matter-energy transport will be possible as soon as we can get around Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. So, any day now. :)

I didn't know many details about the launch we watched recently, but I did catch that it was taking essential equipment in the form of a specially-designed coffee machine. Great name.

Janet, if an espresso machine is essential equipment in space, I think you need one, even if you don't have space. :)

Heisenberg? He's just a dead white guy, right? So passé.
